facing immigrants and refugees and are committed to the
achievement of equality and social justice for newcomers,
then we want to hear from you.
Those with strong ties to the community and possessing
skills in one of the following areas: multiculturalism,
immigrant settlement, health, education, human rights,
research and advocacy, policy development, financial
management, fundraising, law, human resources, marketing

| The Host Program is recruiting! | Join us today to create Friendship without Borders!
The Host Program is a volunteer program that matches immigrant and refugee newcomers with volunteer “hosts”. Host Volunteers provide friendship and support in the settlement and adaptation of newcomers to Canada.
Host volunteers are matched with individuals and families who have various skills and backgrounds. Together they plan creative activities where they can:
- Practice English
- Experience new adventures
- Learn about community resources and services
Being a HOST Volunteer is FUN, exciting and fulfilling!
This is your opportunity to be a part of your community by:
- Helping new Canadians develop a greater awareness about the Canadian lifestyle.
- Connecting newcomers to local community resources.
- Sharing time with new Canadians for 2-3 hours a week.
What makes YOU a good Host?
Volunteer criteria & requirements are:
- Must be willing to volunteer for 2 hours, once a week for a minimum of 6 months
- Clearance of a Criminal Record Check
- Knowledge of local community resources and services
- Ability to work with immigrants and refugees
- Must be over 18 years of age
We are looking for Host Volunteers who are:
- Creative, friendly, and outgoing
- Enjoy making new friends
- Patient and committed
