WorkSafe Program

The WorkSafe Program is funded by WorkSafe BC, and the program provides free workshops. The workshop is an introductory orientation to introduce the new workers in B.C. to some of the issues and situations they might encounter at work in British Columbia.

The workshop will cover the main following topics:

Introduction for a safe work environment

  • Registering
  • Health and safety requirements
  • Health and safety programs
  • Health and safety training
  • First Aid requirements
  • Compensation and assistance for injured workers

Overview a certain skills and attitudes you need to recognize unsafe situation and how to deal with it

  • Read and understand instruction
  • Follow certain steps and procedures
  • Good communicating skills

Rights and responsibilities for workers and employers

  • Provide a safe workplace
  • Provide health and safety training for workers
  • Comply with regulations
  • Report injuries
  • Investigate incidents
