Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program offers English language classes free-of-charge to new immigrants. Classes range from Pre-literacy to LINC 6, which is an intermediate language ability level. A specialized LINC for the Workplace levels 7&8 is also available. As part of English language training, clients learn skills for adapting to Canadian society. They also gain an awareness of community and the resources to deal with settlement issues, as well as knowledge of life in Canada including laws, rights and responsibilities.
Currently, DIVERSEcity offers LINC classes at our Community Campus in Newton, which offers Pre-Literacy to LINC 8.Evening classes are offered in Newton and cover LINC 1 to LINC 8.

Free daytime childminding is available for the children of LINC students.
