Newcomers may not connect with the community due to issues such as family size, language, lack of knowledge of Canadian geography, and low income. Newcomer clients will learn to access and appreciate mainstream service facilities through pre-registered guided field trips that will take place at destinations throughout the Lower Mainland. An informal discussion is arranged after to enable participants to deepen their learning, official language skills, and make connections in an informal setting. Clients gain resources/support required to be an active member of the community, develop a sense of belonging, and inspire adaptation.
