Information and Orientation Services (Settlement)
DIVERSEcity’s Settlement and Integration Program works with newcomers to identify their settlement goals, and assist newcomers to use their strengths and resources to determine their settlement needs. This is offered through the following supports:
- Information and orientation on topics related to life in Canada, including rights and responsibilities, community resources, government programs, wellbeing and family matters
- Connections to essential services, including B.C’s Medical Services Plan, Canadian Child Tax Benefit and the Resettlement Assistance Program,
- Connections to public school system recreation and social programs, including other settlement organizations, language assessment services, Regional Housing Authority, Community Services (Income Assistance), Immigrant, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) programs
- Connections to other DIVERSEcity services for recreation and social programs, Employment services, English language programs, Counselling services, Refugee and specialized services and Early Years Child and Youth services
