Employment Convening Table

Employment, language and skills development were highlighted collaboratively by the South Fraser RRT members as a core issue given the wide variation in education, language levels and employment readiness of refugee and displaced Ukrainian arrivals.

Additionally, South Fraser RRT core members from the business and employment sectors highlighted that there are employers available to support with jobs in the South Fraser Region. However, there needs to be an employment bridge to connect newcomers to potential jobs and to educate employers and bring them into the conversation surrounding employing refugees and displaced Ukrainians. 

The South Fraser Employment Convening Table is being created to encourage collaboration and information sharing among South Fraser employment organizations and programs regarding employment opportunities and employment programs for refugees and displaced Ukrainians in the South Fraser Region.
