How we do what we do and why we do it

Canada stands as the world leader in immigration policy, and our country continues to prove the economic and cultural benefits of opening our doors to future Canadians.

At DIVERSEcity, we value the strengths found in our differences. We see our role as road pavers and bridge builders. We connect people, we cultivate opportunities and we advocate for inclusivity of all.

During our 40 years of service to Surrey, Langley, Delta and White Rock, we have assisted tens of thousands of newcomers to find employment, learn English, find housing, deal with family challenges, work through mental health issues and access medical care. We have provided services for families, children, youth, seniors, members of the LGBTQ community, those with disabilities, victims of abuse and professionals.

We are proud to engage over 300 volunteers across our programs and are one of Surrey’s largest employers with over 200 staff providing direct services and over 300 individuals employed within our two social enterprises. We value our many partnerships with community organizations, school districts, health care professionals, local businesses, post-secondary institutions and more. Our vision calls on us to measure success in terms of how we contribute to the well-being of our clients and communities—not just the size of our operating budget or how many offices we operate from.

We believe in being a progressive employer with living wages and a commitment to personal growth. We are committed to diversity and gender equality, from classrooms to board rooms. We believe in working hard but also in reflection so that our mission continues to be relevant in a fast-changing world.
