We’re raffling off a pair of tickets to MEWA, a powerful Punjabi-language stage play exploring the life of Mewa Singh — a Sikh immigrant navigating racism, resistance and identity in early 20th-century Canada.
Presented by Navrasa Theatre Arts and written and directed by Bir Btaalvi, this play sheds light on a lesser-known chapter of Canadian history, from the Komagata Maru tragedy to acts of resistance against colonial injustice.
Dates: August 22–23, 2025
