We’re halfway through the summer, and the joy is impossible to miss at DIVERSEcity’s summer camps!
With the sun shining and spirits high, DIVERSEcity’s School’s Out Summer Camps at Hellings Elementary and Hawthorne Elementary have become spaces for connection, learning and play for local children aged 6–12 in Delta this summer.
Thanks to support from United Way British Columbia, these accessible, intercultural and free camps have offered underserved families a safe, inclusive space to grow and play. Our campers are spending plenty of time outdoors, staying active with group games and fresh-air fun to keep everyone moving and energized.
“Our daughter has made so many new friends at camp this week!” shared one parent.

DIVERSEcity summer camp highlights in Delta
A highlight so far has been a visit from the Delta Police Department, who joined campers for a safety talk, Q&A and a special look inside a police car. Inspired by the visit, children wrote thoughtful thank-you letters to the officers to give back and practice gratitude for our community!

As we head into the final stretch of summer, we’re incredibly grateful for the community that makes it all possible, and our dedicated partners at United Way British Columbia, for helping create these summer moments for kids!
