Empowering kids and having fun at day camps

When school’s out, DIVERSEcity is here with free day camp options that are not only fun for children and youth, but take an empowerment approach to confidence-building and finding belonging.

Spring Break “New Beginnings” Day Camp

While school is out this spring break, your children can join DIVERSEcity’s free spring break day camp

Dates: March 13–15, 2023  or  March 20–22, 2023

Time: 9:30 am – 2 pm

Locations:

  • DIVERSEcity Surrey Community Campus 13455 76 Avenue, Surrey, BC (Monday & Tuesday)
  • Newton Recreation Centre 13730 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC (Wednesday)

For children aged 7–12 who are permanent residents.

At this free day camp, kids will engage and learn about topics such as mindfulness, inclusion and self-awareness, while also enjoying many fun games and activities. Snacks will be provided. Punjabi and Arabic language support will be available.

“I am Strong” Camp

At this free day camp, kids will engage and learn fun topics such as:
• Mindfulness and mental wellbeing
• Friendships and belonging
• Social skills and creating healthy relationships
• Personal and public safety

For children aged 6–18 who are permanent residents. Kids will be grouped in two age groups 6–12 and 13–18.

Snacks will be provided. Punjabi and Arabic language support will be available.


“Our Place” Camp

At this free camp, kids will have fun and engage in trauma-informed activities around:
• Health and wellbeing
• Self-efficacy and self-esteem
• Cultural diversity
• Rights and responsibilities
• Connection to nature

For children aged 7–12 who are permanent residents.

Snacks will be provided. Punjabi and Arabic language support will be available.
