DIVERSEcity employee does good; arranges plant-based food donation

Our employees at DIVERSEcity are known for their big hearts and going above and beyond for the community! Employment specialist Manal Sid Ahmed coordinated a donation of plant-based food through a connection at the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets for DIVERSEcity clients.

“We served a total of 26 clients from our SAHARA Employment Program and 13 clients from our H.E.A.L. for Work program,” says Manal, who then coordinated with DIVERSEcity’s community kitchen coordinator Leo Ramirez to hand out the rest to other clients including seniors from our Food Fit program. “All the clients were really happy and much appreciated the food.”

With a lot of frozen goods left over, Manal then arranged to donate the remainder to the Surrey Food Bank.

Great work, team!
