The Gerontology Program is a free, government funded 23-week diploma program. This program helps prepare candidates for a career in senior focused programs, services and facilities.
Graduates of gerontology programs will find opportunities in a variety of settings, from retirement homes and community centers to long term care facilities and hospitals. They can work as Activity Worker / Recreational Aide to help seniors maintain, promote, and improve their emotional and physical wellbeing.
The following certifications will be given to candidates who successfully complete the program
- Pandemic Awareness & PPE
- Food Safe & WHMIS
- Standard First Aid & CPR C
- Privacy training & Dementia Care
