Kirsty Peterson is an experienced leader with more than 15 years experience in the non-profit sector. Kirsty completed her Career Development Practitioner certification in Kwantlen University College’s first CDP cohort, complementing her undergraduate studies at SFU in social sciences. Kirsty has an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help people reach their potential. She is an advocate for youth, newcomers, women and for all groups who have historically struggled to secure meaningful labour market attachment.

Kirsty currently sits on the Boards of Directors of the Association of Service Providers for Employability and Career Training (ASPECT) BC, the Burns Bog Conservation Society and the Burns Bog Conservation Foundation, as well as being the YMCA Canada representative on the World YMCA Community of Impact on Employment and Entrepreneurship, with other global leaders from around the world. Kirsty was a solutions lab facilitator and podcast guest at the YMCA Ignite Global Conference 2022 in Denmark, and thrives on meeting new people and having engaging and rich discussions about employability, self-determination and community building.
