Rachna Katariya’s career started in the banking and finance industry in 1999, working as a senior manager in the Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Chandigarh, where she lead audit, compliance and inspection teams for 450 bank branches. She moved to Canada in 2016 and started her Canadian journey as a client at DIVERSEcity, moving onto volunteering with the organization and simultaneously working as an interpreter.
Later that same year, she started in a temporary role as a program services officer with CANN (Canada Airport Newcomers Network YVR) at SUCCESS. She joined DIVERSEcity’s finance team in 2017 as an assistant manager and progressed to manager in 2021 until 2023.
Rachna left DIVERSEcity in February 2023 for an opportunity as Manager, Finance and Administration and HR, at Battered Women’s Support Services Association, before returning to DIVERSEcity as Director, Finance. She says returning back to DIVERSEcity is like coming back home to an organization where she belongs.
