There is now an official day to recognize the impact of the non-profit sector on people and communities in BC; October 30 is now known as Non-Profit Recognition Day.
Premier David Eby announced this today, along with an additional $60 million in funding to the non-profit sector, which will be dispersed by the Vancouver Foundation.
As non-profit organizations, the work we do to support and build communities is crucial as British Columbians face increasing socio-economic pressures and the need for services grows.
The introduction of #BCNonProfitDay recognizes the importance of this work as well as serves as an opportunity to recognize the dedication of staff and volunteers who work each day to strengthen our communities.
