Ukrainian newcomers are upgrading their computer skills at DIVERSEcity Skills Training Centre

DIVERSEcity Skills Training Centre welcomed a class of Ukrainian newcomers

Our DIVERSEcity Skills Training Centre welcomed new students from Ukraine for a special edition of our Essential Computer Skills for the Workplace course, offered with Ukrainian language support!  The participants (seen in photo above) had so many great things to say about the course.

“During my settlement period, I want to learn so many things regarding the Canadian job environment, like how to deal with people, how to talk to different people, how to do office work so I can find a good job,” said one of the students.

“We discovered that more Ukrainian newcomers wanted to enter the workforce, and were specifically looking to upgrade their computer skills. We felt it was important to provide these clients with the same learning opportunities, while also feeling comfortable to speak in their first language,” says Jordan Mahaffy, Program Coordinator, DIVERSEcity Skills Training Centre.
