First Aid training is important and a valuable tool for everyone — at home and in the workplace. We recently held a session of First Aid training for women in our H.E.A.L. for Work program. Through the H.E.A.L. (Hope. Empowerment. Adaptability. Learning.) for Work program, we support women who have experienced trauma by helping them build confidence, grain practical skills and take meaningful steps toward employment. The training isn’t just about safety — it’s about empowerment, independence and healing through opportunity. Behind every strong community are the seniors who helped build it. DIVERSEcity recognizes the many ways older adults enrich our programs, support their families and welcome people in our community with open arms. We’re proud to support seniors through programs that promote connection, dignity and belonging. This Thursday for BC Seniors Week, we celebrated them with a festivity of storytelling, dancing and singing from both South Asian and Chinese cultures. We were enriched by the experience. Thank you to all our seniors from our programs and the community who attended and made it such a magical event. Many of the seniors we work with are not just participants — they are caregivers, volunteers and culture-bearers. Their dedication inspires us to serve with the same heart and to keep building programs that honour their contributions. This #BCSeniorsWeek, we celebrate their care and legacy, including those from our Newcomer Family and Friend Caregiver Program. We held a caregiver wellness workshop this week to help give back some knowledge and care to the selfless, amazing caregivers we support in our program.
