Today is the last day of our annual income tax clinic and we want to extend a big thumbs up to all who volunteered and helped make it possible! Beginning in March, this annual tax clinic offered an opportunity for people to connect with a DIVERSEcity volunteer, trained by the Canada Revenue Agency who helped prepare and file their tax return. Volunteers seated themselves alongside clients, guiding them through the tax filing procedure while providing helpful tips and assistance. This National Volunteer Week, we want to thank all the volunteers who showed up and helped this tax season go smoothly! Today is the start of National Volunteer Week, April 14–20, 2024. For 45 years, DIVERSEcity has counted on incredible volunteers who selflessly support the work we do for people and for communities. From our forward-thinking Board of Directors to the compassionate folks supporting our seniors to the volunteers sharing their tax-filing expertise at our free Income Tax Clinic and beyond, we are grateful to all 240+ of you. Volunteering matters. It builds stronger, more inclusive communities while giving people the help and connection they need. Volunteers benefit, too. You can gain new experiences, improve your skills and meet new people, while giving back to others. Is there a DIVERSEcity volunteer who has made a difference in your life? Let us know!
