In the past year, Sumaiyyah has made significant contributions to her community as a Community Coordinator for the Abbotsford Local Immigration Partnership and as a DEI consultant at Archway Community Services, where she helped organizations build capacity and develop strategies for creating more inclusive workplaces. ![]()

Sumaiyyah is a remarkable advocate for human rights issues at an individual and systemic level. Beyond her day job, Sumaiyyah sits on the Board of Directors for Foundation For A Path Forward, an organization dedicated to dismantling barriers and fostering community through an anti-racist mindset. She is committed to working within government and non-profit organizations to help uplift communities that experience barriers to accessing resources and support.
