Become an EV Certified Technician in one of the fastest-growing fields in the auto industry!

As more Canadians drive electric, the need for skilled workers in the EV sector is booming. This three-week program will help you gain the skills you need to work in EV repair and maintenance. Whether you’re looking to enter the sector or expand your existing automotive skills, the program offers:

  • A customized EV micro-credential training program with Vancouver Community College
  • Career exploration and employment skills training
  • One-on-one coaching, mentorship and networking opportunities
  • Hands-on and industry-specific training, including high-voltage safety, battery diagnostics and OEM digital diagnostics

Financial support is available to those eligible.

Who’s eligible?

  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons who are legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Automotive service technicians
  • Heavy mechanical trades or commercial transport professionals
  • Auto collision or refinishing professionals
  • Entry-level mechanics or journeypersons in mechanical trades

EVolveSkills: Empowering Tomorrow’s Automotive Workforce Today! is a multi-provincial workforce development initiative funded by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program and led by Achēv. In partnership with ISANS, DIVERSEcity, Vancouver Community College, Nova Scotia Community College, Mohawk College, Durham College, Sheridan College and Plug ‘N Drive, the program will train and upskill 1,302 individuals — including 992 current workers and 310 new career entrants — across Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle repair and maintenance skills.
