PEACE Program

PEACE Program

This program offers services to the mainstream population as well as immigrants and refugees living in Delta and Surrey, and provides counselling in either the child’s first language or English. Through individual and group counselling, the program works with children who have witnessed abuse or experienced trauma in their country of origin. Goals of counselling include helping children to develop self-esteem and an understanding of their own emotions, as well as healthy ways to cope with the impact of trauma. Additionally, this program aims at preventing violence against women in relationships and breaking the cycle of violent behaviour in future relationships. Services are available in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, Farsi, Arabic and English.
