English Language programs for learners of all levels

DIVERSEcity’s Language Training and Literacy Programs offer a range of free English language classes to permanent residents and refugees, from Pre-literacy to CLB 6, including LINC preparation classes for Literacy and multi-barrier clients. These classes are designed to support the needs of the community through the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program. They are offered at different times of the day and week to accommodate the needs of clients, and are supported by on-site childminding. The program also ensures that newcomers are provided information about community services and resources and ensures that newcomers acquire skills for adapting to Canadian society and the Canadian work environment.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program offers English language classes free-of-charge to new immigrants. Classes range from Pre-literacy to CLB 6. As part of English language training, clients learn skills for adapting to Canadian society and success in the workplace. They also gain an awareness of community and the resources to deal with settlement issues, as well as knowledge of life in Canada including laws, rights and responsibilities.
