Employment & Skills Training Services

The Employment Services Team offers several programs to assist immigrant job seekers learn about the Canadian labour market, explore educational and training opportunities and prepare them to enter/re-enter the Canadian workforce. All programs are specially designed for immigrants facing multiple barriers to employment such as English language, foreign credentials, lack of Canadian work experience and cultural differences and settlement issues. Customized for immigrant job seekers we provide one-on-one counselling, upgrade your skill-set, arm you with job search techniques and match you with an employer and get you working as quickly as possible.

Are you between the age of 15 to 30 and new to Canada? Need a job but do not have a plan? We can help. Discover your aptitude and the matching career. Perhaps a career in trades is right for you?
Don’t know how to small talk? We will teach you how to say “eh”!
You will have the opportunity for work experience placement & learn on the job!

Our knowledgeable and expert Syrian Refugee and Arabic Speaking Employment team provides employment & life skills training in a relational manner that focuses on encouragement, sharing in one another’s journey and ongoing mentorship.

This program provides low-income immigrants who is not eligible to traditional loans.
In partnership with Vancity Credit Union & TD Bank, these funds will enable newcomers who do not have credit history in Canada to start their own business, obtain skills training, or buy the necessary tools to
start a job.

BC Refugees JobConnect is an online tool to support connection to employment for job-ready refugees.
